Jega Ibrahim
Dr. Musa Jega Ibrahim holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Strathclyde, United Kingdom, on top of an MSc in Economics from the University of Edinburgh, United Kingdom, and another MSc in Economics as well as a BSc in Economics from the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Nigeria.
He started his working career in 1992 as a Lecturer in Economics at Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Nigeria. Between 2001 and 2007 while he was on a study fellowship, he worked as an Associate Lecturer and Research Fellow at the University of Strathclyde. In 2007, he joined the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) with headquarters in Jeddah Saudi Arabia as an Economist, from where he rose to his current position of Lead Economist. During his 15 years at the IsDB, Dr. Ibrahim has been involved in various research and operation relating to international development financing activities and coordinated the preparation and publishing of the IsDB Annual Report between 2018 and 2021.
In his present position as Lead Economist, he is involved in undertaking high-level macroeconomic research activities to understand the economic and social development challenges to guide IsDB intervention in development financing operational activities to support member countries in their efforts to achieve strong economic growth and sustainable development.
